Hillary's Extremists, Part 1: Fabian Nunez

Fabian Nunez is Speaker of the California Assembly and National Co-Chair of the Hillary Clinton campaign. He's also an illegal immigration supporter with some ethical issues. Ask Hillary to renounce Nunez, and upload her response here.

He spoke at 1994's "Gran Marcha" against Proposition 187 where "protestors waved Mexican flags and displayed an American flag with only 13 stars". [1]

At the march, Nunez stood around during the U.S. national anthem, but then put his hand over his heart during the Mexican national anthem. [2]

He attended a 1995 conference against Prop. 187 which was organized by UCR professor Armando Navarro [3], author of 2005's "The Mexicano Political Experience In Occupied Aztlan". [4]

Conference attendees included:
* The racial separatist group MEChA...
* Current California Democratic Party Chairman Art Torres. At the conference he said "Proposition 187 is the last gasp of white America in California". [5]
* Current state Senate Majority Leader Gloria Romero. In 2006, she compared a pro-illegal immigration economic boycott to the Boston Tea Party. [6]
* Reies Lopez Tijerina. In 1967, his group staged an armed raid against a courthouse in New Mexico. [7]
* Jose Angel Gutierrez of UTA. Among other very questionable statements, in 1969 he said: "We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him." [8]

At the conference, Nunez sounded like Karl Marx, supported those believing in Aztlan joining his movement, and used a racist term.

Nunez spent most of his young childhood in Mexico, and on a 2005 trip there to speak to Vicente Fox, he alluded to his own divided loyalties: "I always thought that the biggest criticism I would get is 'Here is this Mexican-American leader of California going to Mexico. Where's his allegiance – to Mexico or the U.S.?'" He also said: "Many of these Democratic leaders traditionally are aligned with the Mexican people and have been very supportive of the contributions of undocumented immigrants in particular..." [9]

In 2004, he helped block a July 4th tribute to Vietnam hero Admiral Jeremiah Denton ("It has now turned into a ceremony more in line with Veterans Day and with ideological overtones that were not presented or agreed to.") [10]

He spoke at the 2006 Gran Marcha in Los Angeles, where hundreds of thousands of illegal immigration supporters took to the streets. [11]

Also in 2006, he spoke at another event organized by UCR professor Armando Navarro. According to the event flyer, it was held in "Riverside California, Aztlan". [12]

In the same year he tried to pass a resolution that lied about HR4437 (AJR51) [13] and he also supported yet another attempt to give driver's licenses to illegal aliens. [14]

Even as the state was facing a looming fiscal emergency, his healthcare plan included at least illegal alien children. [15] The better public policy is to oppose illegal immigration, but Nunez has consistently done the opposite.

Now, for examples of his ethical issues.

Nunez spent thousands on luxury goods out of campaign funds, and when a reporter tried to ask him about it, he "walked" away. [16]

In 2007, he pushed the completely bogus Proposition 93, which was designed to keep him and others in office instead of being termed out. [17]

"Nunez's wife, Maria Robles, was hired at a six-figure salary in January to serve as president of Californians for Patient Care, a Sacramento-based nonprofit agency that receives nearly all its funding from the California Hospital Association" (SacBee) [18]

He "used a small charity as a conduit to funnel almost $300,000 from companies and organizations with business in the Capitol to events that helped him politically" (LAT) [19]

He "shares a luxury downtown penthouse with a prominent fundraiser who has collected nearly $600,000 in fees and expenses from Nunez’s political committees and the state Democratic Party since 2005" (AP) [20]

He "solicited $120,000 in charitable contributions from Verizon shortly after pushing successful legislation last year that is expected to bring billions to telecommunications firms" (SacBee) [21]

Please go to Hillary Clinton's campaign events, ask her to renounce Nunez' support, and then upload her response to video sharing sites. The mainstream media will never ask her about him, so we need to do it.
